Mr. 5 Months

 

 

Oh my goodness do I love this little boy!!! He is so sweet. The past 5 months have been amazing getting to know our son.
Every month around the 22nd I like to take a photo of him so we can do that "first year" frame with a photo for every month to see how he has grown.

Uncle David and Aunt Lee got Brooks his own Fleur de Lis outfit and we thought Mardi Gras was the perfect ocassion for it.

Gi-Gi, Paw Paw and Aunt Julie came up for Valentines Day weekend. Jeff and I got to enjoy a romantic dinner at Fleming's and we went to Zilker Park to take some family photos and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I love that park!

First Solid Food

 

 

I had planned on waiting until Brooks was 6 months old before starting him on solids but when he went from sleeping through the night to waking up hungry every 3-4 hours for a whole week I had a real quick change of plans. Brooks loves his rice cereal!

Weekend at Gi Gi & Paw Paws

 

 

Brooks had a great time this weekend. On Friday night we went to Benihana's for Julie's birthday and Brooks was very impressed with our chef and tried to sample all of the cuisine. Eating with him on your lap can be very challenging since he wants to get into everything and will pull your plate right off the table if you're not careful!
On Saturday Brooks hung out with Gi Gi, Paw Paw and Aunt Julie while Jeff and I went to a Rockets game. They sang songs and read stories. Brooks like to try and turn the pages and of course eat the book. Delicious!

4 Months

 

 

Brooks has started to teeth (no teeth yet though) but he is drooling a lot and he wants to put everything in his mouth. YUMMY!

Here is Brooks in the jumparoo his Gi-Gi and Paw Paw got him for Christmas. He still doesn't have the jumping down but he enjoys playing with the toys and making the music play. I am sure it will be his favorite toy in a month or so.

Best Buds

 

So far Griswald and Brooks get along really well. Griz doesn't even seem to mind when Brooks pulls on his fur or gouges his eyes. We have plans to whisk Griswald away to his grandparents house if he ever acts up but so far he has been great. A little jealousy displayed with pouting and loud drama queen-ish sighs but that's been the extent of it.

4 Month Well Check

Brooks is in the 95 percentile for height and 85 percentile for weight. Dr. B confirmed our suspicions that Brooks is beautiful and wonderful. :)
I HATE it when he gets the shots. Luckily Jeff goes with us so he can take over while I fall to pieces.

Brooks will be 4 months tomorrow!
He was rolling and wiggling around so if I left him at his activity gym for a minute to brush my teeth or something he would be facing a totally different direction when I got back but lately he has decided that he is happy just where he is at.
Brian, Michele & Maisie got him this outfit. It's so cute!

BZZZZZ...

 

My uncle said that Brooks' hair looked like a hurricane so we were just going to give his crazy hair a trim but he moved and BZZZ. We could not stop laughing!!!! Freaking HILARIOUS! So, his trim turned into a shave but I think it looks cute.

Command Center

 

 

 

 

Here is Brooks in his "Command Center" as Grandma calls it and then chillin' in his Juicy Jumpsuit. It's been cold here in Austin!

Rupert

 

Brooks has a teddy bear named Rupert and a duck named Howard.
He has also started to suck his left thumb. I'm sure we won't think its so cute in 3 years or so but as of right now it is super cute.
Brooks has been a wonderful baby so far. I hope his cheerful, laid back personality is here to stay.

German Baby

 

I think that Brooks looks like a little German baby in this photo. Aunt Corrina got him this really cute outfit for Christmas.
