Brooks had his first round of shots today. He cried for about a minute, then fell back asleep. I think the trip was rougher on his mom and dad than it was for him!

This is the Cadillac of baby seats, the Bumbo. There were several warnings telling us to keep it on the floor, and to think, I was planning on trying it for the first time with Brooks sitting on the top of the refrigerator...?
While enjoying his new upright position, Brooks gets a visit from a giant shaggy dog named Griswald.
Here are the proud moms with their babies. Marcie with Madisen, Alice with Sophie and Emily with Brooks. Brooks seemed to really enjoy meeting new people and will hopefully enjoy many more play dates with Madisen.
The first 4 weeks are in the books. Everyone tells us this whole sleeping thing gets easier at 6-8 weeks, fingers crossed! Brooks has started to lose his hair, but before we sign him up for Hair Club For Newborns, we figured we would try out a hat or two. Here he is at 4 weeks + 1 day. He will probably look back on this picture and ask why we put him in that silly hat!?
We took Brooks to the park today to enjoy the beautiful weather. He seems to really enjoy being outside and is wide-eyed the whole time taking in all the scenery.
Brooks will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. He has put on over a pound in that time and seems to be developing daily.
Brooks contemplating the upcoming election in the swing his Aunt Julie gave him. After a few seconds of deep thought, he proceeded to dirty his diaper. We agree about our November 4th choice Brooks!
We assumed it was within the genetic possibilities for Brooks to get Jeff's hair, however we thought color, not cowlick...? Sorry Brooks, you will probably have crazy hair in many school pictures.
Brooks had his two week check up on Monday and he not only met but he has exceeded his birth weight. He was 8 lbs 8 oz at birth and was 8 lbs 13 oz at his two week check up. Go Brooks! He is getting bigger and cuter by the day!
We rigged up a mini portrait studio at home today with a sheet and dad's garage flood light. Above are a couple of our favorite shots and below is a clip from the blooper reel.
We gave Brooks a sponge bath today. We know it will be no time before he's making waves in the tub. His cord fell off two nights ago and he seems to have a cute innie belly button.
We started putting the finishing touches on Brooks' room today. Since we didn't know if we were having a boy or girl, gender specific touches had to wait. Dad made Brooks this car decoration as the first step to making the room suitable for a boy.
Since Brooks had set up camp with no plans to come out and greet the world my doctor scheduled an induction at over 41 weeks. Jeff and I took the opportunity to go out for a romantic dinner at the Hula Hut. No sitter required. I was trying to eat spicy food and was walking at least 3 miles a day trying to bring on labor by itself but no such luck. We had fun trying though.
